It’s official, the holiday season is upon us and this means one thing… the countdown to the end of the year has officially begun! Woohoo! I don’t know about you, but I am absolutely done with 2020. Knowing that we have reached December without too many scars to show for it has me feeling excited for Christmas. Is that you too? That being said, if you would like to join the festivities and just can’t figure out how, I’ve got you! Why not binge on some Christmas movies to get you ready for the big day? I’ve listed out quite a few, but some of them are actually on my watch list. Who knows, we could be watching them together at some point! I mean, how cool is that?

Growing With Spawn’s top Christmas movies
If you’re done with Christmas gift shopping, you have to add the movies to your to-do list. Most of the movies I have mentioned below will be listed, depending on which country you’re in. Just in case you need to know just how good the movies are, I’ve added the Rotten Tomatoes ratings and trailers below. In addition, no synopsis has been added to avoid spoilers.
#1 Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 92%
This one is the latest addition to the Christmas movies’ list and will have everyone feeling magical again. If you’re into musicals and fantasy, I would highly recommend this for December watching.
#2 Nightmare Before Christmas
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 95%
#3 Little Women
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 95%
Based on the book written by Luisa May Alcott, this movie takes us into the past for a flashback into 19th Century life. This movie was produced in 2019, so don’t worry, you’ll watch it in HD.
#4 How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Rotten Tomatoes: rating: 100%
For anyone who loved Dr. Seuss books growing up, snuggle up with the Grinch this Christmas. Just make sure to wear extra padding and hide the presents!
#5 A Christmas Carol
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 52%
Although the Rotten Tomatoes rating was low, viewers seemed to love the remake of this holiday classic. If you can’t get enough of Ebineezer Scrooge, definitely check this one out.
#6 Let it Snow
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 81%
This one is for those who love a bit of reality mixed with lots of comedy. I personally love romcoms so this is on my playlist.
#7 The man who invented Christmas
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 79%
For anyone in need of inspiration, this is a must see. It takes us through Charles Dickens struggles as an author and highlights the pivot to his success.
#8 Serendipity
Rotten Tomatoes rating:
Yet another romcom on the list, this one takes through the interesting fates that life presents us. I won’t give more details, but if you haven’t already, watch it!
#9 Home Alone
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 65%
An oldie but a goodie, this one will take you back to your childhood – if you’re a millennial that is.
#10 Edward Scissorhands
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 90%
This is another fantasy film for anyone who wants to escape reality this season. If you’re looking for a blast from the past and are into Johnny Depp, this one is for you.
Happy Holidays!

There are so many Christmas movies. I’m always amazed how few of the movies on these lists I haven’t seen.
Edward Scissorhands is a film I did not enjoy. I just found it silly and couldn’t get into it.
Home Alone is one we plan to watch again this year, although every time I see Kevin’s mother, I will think of Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek. LOL
Eeek! Lol so what movies would you recommend?
My top 9 was in yesterday’s post. Most of mine are comedies.
How come I missed it?! Ok I’m gonna go catch up now 😅
I love the Christmas Carol. I watched the Grinch who stole Christmas for the first time as my daughter demanded it. #momlife
Hahaha mom life isn’t all that bad. At least she introduced you to a good movie! Did you enjoy it?
I’ve watched 6/10 movies you’ve recommended. Adding the others to my to watch pile. Especially very curious to watch Nightmare before Christmas – that sounds different!

Thanks for reading!
Home alone can definitely never go wrong and I enjoyed watching Little Women. Great movies Shelly!
I just got Jingle Jangle and recommended it as well, I read some nice reviews and heard that the actors used African inspired prints in some of their outfits. That, I really like.
I’ll settle and watch it when the mood is just right.
Ciao!
