When it comes to blogging, you are nothing without your community. Have you heard that before? A lot of bloggers actually say that to newbie bloggers, but I’m not sure how many of them actually understand the extent of this statement. Well, to put it simply, the blogging community comprises readers and fellow writers that both play equal parts. That is, in my opinion of course. I would even go as far as saying that without the bloggers that inspired me to write, provided blueprints, or asked key questions, I would not have been able to successfully to run my blog!
When I first started my blog, I would write whatever my heart desired. But as I ran out of ideas, I started looking to my blogging peers for inspiration. To me, this came in the form of researching topics on Google that were written by other bloggers and what is trending online. I do this very often to see how certain posts are structured, different points of views, etc. But another valuable source of inspiration has come from my dear blogger friends in the WordPress community.
So there are some bloggers that inspired me. So what?
Well, in appreciation, I thought I would highlight some bloggers that inspired me. But here’s the twist; instead of writing the typical “bloggers I love” post, I decided to share which of my recent posts were inspired by my fellow bloggers and why.

Boomer Eco Crusader
Inspired post: This one!
Michelle is a dear friend of mine in this blogging universe, not only because we share a name but because I love her content. She provides inspirational content on living an eco-friendly lifestyle and is currently embarking on a 52-week decluttering challenge. It’s obvious that we speak to different audiences, but what I’ve really enjoyed about her approach is that she has a variety of content within her genre. Every month, Michelle shares a list of the best blog posts she has read. I love this because she takes a moment out of her regular routine to highlight a few other bloggers.
I have always wanted to do something similar, but found it too hard to keep track of the content I read. Instead, I have chosen to honestly share with you all just which of my posts were inspired by others.

Crispy Confessions
Inspired Post: 4 stereotypical assumptions people have about me
Helen is such a sweet person who has shown me so much love. She also happens to be such a great writer who is not afraid to stir the waters with her frequent posts on taboo topics. As a ‘hapa’ (half Asian, half Caucasian) mother to a ‘hapa-Afro’ baby, she has quite a few tails to tell. What I love about her content, besides the topics, is that she always finds a way to talk about very uncomfortable topics in such a quicky, non-accusatory way. Hats off to Helen for being the person I would love to be!.
This month, my post “4 stereotypical assumptions people have about me’ was inspired by the essence of Helen’s blog. I’m hoping to bring more content like this to the table. Make sure to check her out if you enjoyed my post!

Lose weight with Ang
Inspired post: A thank you letter to my body
When I first started out my blog, I used to write very abstract posts as my way of letting off steam. I’ve written letters to my daughter, myself and even time! As my blog grew, I did shimmy away from my abstract posts in the hopes of optimisimg my site for SEO. Well, about ten months after it all started, I saw a post by Ang that was a dedicated letter to her body.
In this post, she displayed vulnerability while apologising to her body for the years of damage she inflicted on it. She also thanked her body for carrying her through her darkest moments. This post spoke to me.
Ang and I share a similar background with our depression, body image issues and eating disorders. Although our niches are different, I love how relatable her posts are. I mean, who can’t relate to body image issues in this day and age?!
Read Ang’s letter here.
Bossy Babe
Inspired Post: 5 Annoying video conference call experiences
I recently found out about ‘Bossy Babe’ through a fellow blogger, maybe three months ago. Although I have only been exploring her blog for a few weeks now, I tend to get new ideas whenever I stop by her page. The most recent inspirational piece she wrote was about her thoughts on the pandemic and how life is, one year later. Thanks to her beautiful opening, I was inspired to share a few irritating moments I have experienced in the corporate world. And I know for sure that we can all relate!
I appreciate her wit and ability to turn such serious matters into something comical. If you’d love a giggle, read the original post here and let me know what you think.
Happy Panda
Inspired Post: 5 Types of Bloggers you will encounter on your journey
Happy Panda is such a gem! As her name states, she is such a bundle of joy that everyone has to love. I find her to be so humble, relatable, and funny, so it is no wonder I take inspiration from her blog. As I was trying to remember where I had found the inspiration for this particular post, I found a blog post she wrote in October. Ironically, it had the same title… and I have read it before. So Moksha, thank you for the inspiration to write a version of my own. I promise I thought I was being original with the title!
If you’re looking to just enjoy the blogging world and make supportive friends, you HAVE to check out Happy Panda! Also, here is the funny post about bloggers that inspired my own.
To all the bloggers that inspired me, you may not be on the list now but I appreciate you!
Thanks to the wonderful community we have on here, I would like to dedicate a post like this each month. Let me know in the comment section if you enjoy reading about the process of creating blog posts. If you do check out the bloggers on this list, do let me know what you think about them.
I agree that we can find the inspiration with our fellow bloggers. I admire how they post great contents and very helpful ones. It’s a great community to support and be inspired at the same time.

That’s exactly it!
Wow, this was such a lovely surprise! I am honestly so appreciative and honoured! 🙂 When I started blogging I was nervous people wouldn’t understand me or my humour, and then I was sure no one would even read my blog let alone be inspired by it! Thank you so much!! I’m glad we got connected by Happy Panda!❤️ I’ve enjoyed reading your content as well! 🙂
Girl your humour is definitely on point! I love your content so much! 🙂

Awww, thank you for the shout out! I really NEEDED this – I’ve been so out and down with work and stuff that I’ve been neglecting the blogging world – so thank you for giving me motivation to get back to writing. <3 <3

You’re very inspirational. Don’t ever forget that <3
That happens with Pinterest too. The pins I don’t expect to do well are booming for some reason lol. Thank you! 🥰
I thought I was the only one that happens too!!
Crazy, right?
Yep very!! The worst pins get the most attention!!!
Thank you so much for this Shelly. I will definitely check out the others on your list.
It’s interesting where we find our inspiration. My monthly roundup post was inspired by seeing other bloggers’ “meet my monthly advertisers” posts. I didn’t want to generate advertising income, but thought promoting some of my favourite posts and bloggers every month would be a great way to show some love and help out some fellow bloggers.
I love how you were inspired and you inspired in return! 😂💖
Your monthly roundup post is one of my favorites because it also lets me in on hour brain as a reader. It’s nice to get to know about what you like in ways that aren’t that obvious.
Thank you for the mention! I feel so honored.
I always feel inspired by YOUR blog posts. Whether you are writing about depression or long distance relationships, I love the honesty with which you write your posts.

The blogging community is so awesome. It gets particularly nicer once we are able to create our own personal community, as we treat these people as our friends. Great choices, Shelly!
