YES to ALL of this!! Thank you for sharing because these are excellent reminders. I especially liked the part about not making yourself constantly available, especially for things that don’t help you to shine. So good!

This is an excellent list, Shelly. The one thing I would add is “get involved”. Put your hand up when they are looking for someone to volunteer on a special committee or task force. You will learn new skills, meet new people, and it might just be the difference-maker when you look to make your next move.

That’s also a good one! It’s so easy to lose sight of what your aspirations are when you keep being fed the company’s goals.
Thanks for stopping by and for your input 😊

Very interesting to read! Although I would add an asterisk to the part about shy introverts. I think they can be great leaders! But yes, it will probably require some stepping-out of their comfort zone.

These are awesome points. You can probably add be proactive and take initiative. If you have an idea that could make life easier, create a presentation and show it to your boss. Showcase that you understand the needs of the organisation.

All your points are valid but extremely hard to do for someone like me! Which is why I think I’m not meant for the corporate world! Great recommendations though! 🙂
